What Happens after deprivation of Citizenship?

The Home Secretary has the legal power under Section 40 of the British Nationality Act 1981 to deprive a person of British citizenship in limited circumstances. This may apply where citizenship was obtained by fraud, false representation or concealment of material facts, or where deprivation is considered conducive to the public good, such as for reasons related to national security or serious criminal conduct.

If you have received a notice of intention to deprive you of your citizenship, it is important to act promptly. Deprivation decisions can have serious consequences, including loss of the right to live in the UK or subject to removal directions.
