Our Price and Transparency Policy
Our Price and Transparency Policy
In line with the transparency guidance published by the Law Society of Scotland, we are proud to present the below information, which will bring the public clarity on what the likely costs would be to instruct us.
Our fee is based on the amount of time we estimate we will require, in order to resolve your matter. When providing the estimated costs, we take into account the nature and complexity of your case, the volume of documents we will need to review, and the seniority of the team member instructed. We will provide an estimate of the costs involved in a specific scope of work, and we may either provide an estimated fee or a fixed fee quote.
Our charges (based on our hourly rates) will include time spent reviewing and checking your documents, working on application forms, attendance and preparation, drafting correspondence, reviewing file notes, answering telephone calls and video conferences, writing emails, legal research. Time will be charged in six-minute units.
Our current hourly rates (VAT excluded) are as follows:
- Principal Solicitor £250.00
- Solicitor £200.00
- Trainee Solicitor £150.00
During the course of our work, we may incur various expenses (“disbursements”) for which you will be liable. Disbursements include, but are not limited to, the cost of application fees, Home Office fees, fees to instruct Counsel or an expert, fees payable to the Home Office’s commercial partners, courier fees, charges for substantial photocopying, travel charges, bank charges, translation costs and other expenses.
We will set out to you any likely payments that we may have to make on your behalf. If disbursements are incurred in a currency other than GBP, these will normally be calculated and invoiced to you at the published Bank of Scotland Bank exchange rate on the date of payment and may include bank fees for payments made in overseas currency. Exchange rates fluctuate (including during the course of the business day), sometimes giving rise to minor discrepancies. We will not be liable to account to you for any gain, nor will you normally be liable for any loss arising from an alteration in exchange rate.
We offer a fixed fee quote for certain common types of scope of work. The following examples are an estimate of our anticipated fees where we regularly provide assistance. The fee ranges are based on the following assumptions:
- Any supporting documentation is provided promptly;
- Any request for information is responded to promptly;
- The frequency and length of communication does not significantly exceed standard expectations;
- There are no previous visa refusals or other negative history (such as negative immigration history or a suitability matter);
- The agreed scope of work does not feature any other unusual complexities.
While prospects of success can be assessed, for most immigration work, the outcome of a case can never be guaranteed. The above fee structure is not dependent upon a successful outcome. Our practice when advising clients on contentious matters is to provide a detailed advice note at the outset of a case advising on the prospects of success and the likely cost in achieving the desired outcome.
Our Professional Fees
For personal immigration our consultation fee is £180. This includes 1 hour with an immigration solicitor.
During the consultation, we will examine your circumstances in detail, identify the most suitable approach and answer any questions you may have.
We do not look at supporting documents during an initial consultation, however, if you have been refused an application, we will review the refusal letter and advise you accordingly.
We require advance payment and signed client care documents before we can confirm your appointment.
For business immigration our consultation fee is £250. This includes 1 hour with an immigration solicitor.
During the consultation, we will assess your business's circumstances in detail, provide tailored legal advice on the most appropriate visa to hire international workers or compliance strategy for your business.
Please note, we do not review supporting documents at the initial consultation stage. However, if your business has received a refusal or compliance issue (such as a sponsor licence refusal or civil penalty notice), we will review the relevant decision letter and advise you on possible next steps.
We require advance payment and signed client care documents before we can confirm your appointment.
We recognise that no two cases are the same. Each application is prepared with a bespoke strategy tailored to your individual circumstances.

We recommend pursuing an oral hearing, where your case can be heard in front of a judge.
Please note:
We may instruct Counsel to represent you and present your case at the Tribunal. Counsel’s fees are a disbursement and are not included in our professional fees for preparing your appeal. We will always confirm their proposed charges with you in advance.
If your appeal is heard in Scotland, we will instruct an Advocate; for appeals in England, we will instruct a Barrister.
The Tribunal hearing fee is a separate disbursement and is currently £140 for an oral hearing.
