Who Can Apply for a British Passport?

You may be eligible to apply if you are:

• A British citizen (by birth, descent, registration, or naturalisation)
• Able to provide evidence of your citizenship status (e.g. Certificate of Naturalisation or Registration, or a UK Birth Certificate)

If you are applying for the first time, you need to submit original supporting documents, including any citizenship evidence, any foreign passport(s), and in some cases, attend an identity interview. Applications can be made online or by post.

The standard application fee for an adult standard 34-page passport is £94.50 (online application) and £107 (by paper application).

The standard application fee for an adult standard 54-page passport is £107.50 (online application) and £120 (by paper application).

The standard application fee for a child (under 16) 34-page passport £61.50 (online application) and £74 (by paper application).

The standard application fee for a child (under 16) 54-page passport ££88.50 (online application) and £100 (by paper application).
